Laurence, Thomas and Robert do not appear in the 1776 census of Maryland.

March 31, 1773: “In the Name of God I Samuel T. Hardy of Frederick County and province of Maryland ------ make this my last will and testament ---“ mentions Fielder, his wife; my children: Sarah, Elias, Kenzey, Rebeccah, Fielder, Moley and Beaty

Laurence Owen had a wife named Sarah as early as 1772. The first wife must have died.

6 white inhabitants (1790 census) indicates the remains of a previous family.

This indicates that many of the heirs had left the state; including Laurence and Sarah Owen Hardy Estate Suit.

According to the 1776 census Sarah would have been 41 years old in 1800. All of the children listed in this census could have been borne by her.
